Cookies & Internet Advertising

Visiting Amazon's websites with your browser settings adjusted to accept cookies or using Amazon devices, mobile apps, or other software tells us that you want to use Amazon's products and services and that you consent to our use of cookies and other technologies to provide them to you as described in this notice and in our Privacy Notice. See below for information on how to modify the settings in your device to notify you when you receive a new cookie and disable cookies altogether.

Cookies and How We Use Them

Cookies are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device to enable our systems to recognize your device and to provide features such as 1-Click purchasing, Recommended for you, and interest-based advertisements on other Web sites. Any reference to "sites" of Amazon includes our Amazon websites, devices, mobile apps or other software.

Cookies allow you to take advantage of some of Amazon's essential features. For instance, if you block or otherwise reject our cookies, you will not be able to proceed to Checkout, or use any Amazon. com. au products and services that require you to Sign in.

Cookies and Browser Settings

The Help feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie and how to disable cookies altogether. Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on's settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer.

Internet Advertising

On certain Amazon-owned and operated sites and unaffiliated sites, Amazon displays interest-based advertising using information you make available to us when you interact with certain of our sites, content, or services. Interest-based ads, also sometimes referred to as personalised or targeted ads, are displayed to you based on information from activities such as purchasing on our sites, use of devices, apps or software, visiting sites that contain Amazon content or ads, interacting with Amazon tools or using our payment services.

Like other online ad networks, we use cookies, web beacons (also known as action tags or single-pixel gifs), and other technologies (collectively, "cookies"). Cookies enable us to learn about what ads you see, what ads you click, and other actions you take on our sites and other sites. This allows us to provide you with more useful and relevant ads. For example, if we know what ads you are shown we can be careful not to show you the same ones repeatedly.

Amazon does not associate your interaction with unaffiliated sites with your identity in providing you with interest-based ads.

Amazon does not provide any personal information to advertisers or to third party sites that display interest-based ads. However, advertisers and other third-parties (including the ad networks, ad-serving companies, and other service providers they may use) may assume that users who interact with or click on a personalised ad or content are part of the group that the ad or content is directed towards (for example, users in a particular geographical area or users who bought or browsed for classical music). Also, some third-parties may provide us information about you (such as demographic information or sites where you have been shown ads) from offline and online sources that we may use to provide you more relevant and useful advertising.

Third party advertisers or advertising companies working on their behalf sometimes use technology to serve the advertisements that appear on our sites directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use cookies to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize advertising content. We do not have access to or control over cookies or other features that advertisers and third party sites may use, and the information practices of these advertisers and third party websites are not covered by our Privacy Notice or this Cookies & Internet Advertising page. Please contact them directly for more information about their privacy practices.

Advertising Preferences

Amazon offers you choices about receiving interest-based ads from us. You can choose not to receive interest-based ads from Amazon. You will still see ads but they will not be personalised. Please visit your Advertising Preferences page to learn how to set this preference.

You can also generally opt-out of receiving personalised ads from third party advertisers and ad networks who are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) or who follow the Digital Advertising Alliance's Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising by visiting the opt-out pages on the NAI website and DAA website.

If you have any questions about our Internet Advertising practices or options related to setting your preferences related to our practices, please contact Customer Support.

Author Copies

Author copies are copies of your paperbacks that you've made available for sale on Amazon. You can order copies at printing cost from your KDP Bookshelf. They don't include unpublished changes you've made on KDP.

Order author copies

You can order author copies of books in "Live" status:

Go to your Bookshelf. Find the paperback you want to order. Click the Order Author Copies button. Enter the order quantity. Choose an Amazon marketplace. You can order copies from Amazon. com, Amazon. co. uk, Amazon. de, Amazon. fr, Amazon. it, and Amazon. es. Choose the marketplace closest to your shipping location. For example, if your shipping address is in Canada, choose Amazon. com. For addresses in Brazil, choose Amazon. com. For addresses in the Netherlands, choose Amazon. de. Click Proceed to checkout. You'll be sent to the Amazon cart or basket of your chosen marketplace to complete your order.

Quantity limits

You can order as up to 999 author copies per order. If you want to order more than 999 copies, place separate orders. You pay shipping charges for each order.

Issues ordering?

Wrong quantity. If you submit your order and the quantity displayed in the Amazon cart or basket is wrong, don't worry. To fix this, go to your cart or basket, where you can change the quantity to the number of copies you want, with a maximum of 999 units per order. The quantity can't be updated from your KDP Bookshelf. No option to order. If your paperback isn't available for sale on Amazon, the option to order won't appear. When the book status changes to "Live," you'll be able to order author copies. Empty cart or basket. If your cart or basket is empty or items are missing from it, it's likely you aren't signed in to your KDP account. If you add items to your cart or basket while signed in to your account and then sign out, your items will seem to disappear. If this is the case, you should be able to retrieve your cart or basket by signing back in to your KDP account. If your cart or basket is empty, it might also be because of the marketplace your chose for your request. To complete your order, you need to go to the corresponding Amazon site. For example, if you chose Amazon. co. uk when ordering copies, you need to go to your Amazon. co. uk basket to complete the order. Browser issues. Sometimes you can have issues ordering copies because of your browser. Try clearing your cache and deleting cookies. The steps are different for every web browser. Please check your browser's help files for more information.

Supported languages

Author copies are available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch.

Shipping options and times

Author copy orders don't qualify for free or Prime shipping, but all paid standard and expedited Amazon shipping options are available.

Our manufacturing and delivery estimates are based on the quantity ordered and selected delivery speed. The most up-to-date delivery estimate will display during checkout.

Actual production times fluctuate according to total order volume. There may be times that your order is manufactured faster than expected, but faster delivery isn't guaranteed. We recommend noting the Expected Delivery Date you're given when placing the order. This date takes production time into consideration

Shipping rates

Amazon shipping rates depend on the selected shipping speed and weight or size of the items. You can see the applicable shipping rate for items in your cart. The total shipping and handling cost will be listed under in your order summary.

Shipping restrictions

Certain restrictions prevent us from shipping author copies to all geographical locations. You'll be notified at checkout if we can't ship copies to the address you entered.

For example, we can't ship author copies to addresses in territories that belong to the Swiss Customs Union. However, authors and publishers in these locations can order retail copies of their paperbacks. Learn more about international shipping.

Pricing and discounts

When you order author copies through your KDP account, you pay the printing cost for your selected marketplace for each copy. The trim size, interior type and page count determines this price and doesn't include shipping charges or taxes. For estimated printing costs, use our calculator.

This price is the lowest price we can offer for your book. We can't offer additional discounts.

Author copies are subject to taxes. On Amazon. com, any applicable sales tax is applied at checkout. For European orders, local VAT is applied at checkout.

You might qualify to make tax-exempt purchases. Learn more about the Amazon Tax Exemption Program.

Reselling copies

You can resell author copies you ordered from KDP, but royalties aren't paid for author copies.

Implement the Proceed to Checkout Button

Amazon hosts the web pages in the Order Pipeline. Your application plays no role in purchasing the items or order fulfillment. However, your application must use the PurchaseURL returned by Product Advertising API cart operations to add the shopping cart items to the Order Pipeline. The PurchaseURL is often an HTML form and button labeled, for example, Proceed to Checkout.

Why: Amazon Checkout Button Missing

If you are trying to Check-out of Amazon. com with items in your cart, you may notice the proceed to checkout button missing and only the continue shopping button shows up. The most likely reason you do not see Checkout is because you have Add-on items in your cart AND you have not met the minimum $25 order amount.

When you search for Amazon products, Add-on Item’s will show a light blue logo next to them similar to below.

Per Amazon:

The Add-on program allows Amazon to offer thousands of low-priced items that would be cost-prohibitive to ship on their own. These items ship with qualifying orders over $25.

Add-on items ship with orders that contain $25 of items shipped by Amazon. Your cart currently contains $xx. xx of items shipped by Amazon.

To get around purchasing an Add-on item, search for your product in Amazon without the Add-on item logo. Usually, the one-time-purchase item will appear directly below an Add-on item.
