How to Cancel Amazon Order in App and Website

Amazon is an international online shopping store. It is famous for its excellent services for example cash on delivery and easy returns policy. If you have ordered a product on Amazon and now you don’t want that product then you can cancel your order and can get full refund of your money. Don’t know how to cancel Amazon order? Then in this tutorial I will help you cancel your order.

If your order is yet to dispatch or it is in the shipping process then you can cancel your order. Before you jump straight in, you should know that if your product has been dispatched by the seller then you cannot cancel your order. In that case you can refuse to accept the delivery of the product or you can accept the delivery and then request for return and refund.

Similarly if you have already received your product then you will not be able to cancel your order. In that case you can return your product and ask for refund.

Note: All products on Amazon are not returnable therefore read refund policy of your product to know whether it is returnable or not. I have written a separate post on how to return or exchange Amazon items. In this tutorial, I will be focusing on how to cancel an order in Amazon after payment.

You can cancel your Amazon order using Amazon app or website. I will be discussing both methods here in this post.

1. How to Cancel Amazon Order in App

Open your Amazon app and tap on hamburger icon appearing in the top left corner. Then tap on ‘Your Orders’.

Next you will be able to see all the items you have ordered. Now tap on an item whose order you want to cancel.

Swipe down and in the end of the page you will be able to see ‘Cancel order’ option. Simply tap on that.

Select the item you want to cancel and tap on ‘Cancellation reason (optional)’ and then select a reason for cancellation. Note: If your reason is not listed then you can select ‘Other’.

After selecting all the field, hit ‘Request Cancellation’ button.

That’s it. You’ve successfully cancelled your Amazon order.

2. Using Website

If you want to cancel your Amazon order using Amazon online shopping website then follow the steps given below.

Visit Amazon online shopping store and login to your account using your login credentials. After logging in hover your mouse cursor over your username to open drop down menu and then click on ‘Your Orders’.

On the next page you will be able to see all of your Amazon orders. Next to every order you will be able to see ‘Cancel items’ button, simply click on that button.

Select items you want to cancel and then select reason for your cancellation by clicking on the drop down menu next to ‘Reason for cancellation’.

Now hit ‘Request Cancellation’ button to cancel your Amazon order.
