Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Review

I did a Super Mario Odyssey review with oozyman(again) a few days ago, I also made a poll about what to review nxt. BotW won but theres already another one. So I turned to my 2nd favorite game on the Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe(1st Super Mario Odyssey and 3rd BotW).

The game really does'nt have a story. The closest we have is the Grand Prix mode. In the Grand Prix mode you can pick a character and also customize your kart. After that you pick what cup you want to race on. The game goes like good old Mario Kart with tracks remastered in 3D and you can hold two items now lile in Double Dash and all the DLC is here. Theres a new Battle Mode from Mario Kart 7 and with the added portability of the Switch and split screen Co-Op, its just perfect.

So the gameplay is like any old Mario Kart game. Its Mario characters and then some racing in karts with items that you get from boxes and a chance of losing your best friend your playing with.

The music varies from the stage you are racing on and even tbe starting screen and even the menu has music. Nintendo just simply nailed it with the music in this game so props to them.

So all the DLC is added in with the ability to hold two items at once. The Battle Mode is back with the all the modes(I'll talk about that l8r)and also some new title screen as well(so IDK if Gold Mario and the Gold Kart is new so someone point that out in the comments below pls)but other than that none has changed that much so lets move on.

So the following modes are parts of the Battle Mode so I'll be reveiwing those to(you can also customize stuff before you play).

Throw items at opponents to pop their balloons to get points. If you lose all your balloons your points will cut in half and you will have three balloons. You can also steal a balloon from an opponent by bumping into them with a super star and a mushroom.

The authority team wins if they capture all lf the renegades and the renegade team if at least one team member survives. Renegades can free teamates by pressing the jail switch that unlocks the cage.

Use your Bob-Ombs to blast your enemies into smitherins. If you lose all your balloons and your points will all cut into half. Each item box you get gives you a Bob-Omb which you can stock up to ten of.

Collect the most coins to win. You can steal them by ramming into them with a mushroom or hit them with an item to make them drop it.

You can also see dropped coins on tbe minimap below.

Get the Shine on the map and hold it long enough to win. Throw items to make the opponent drop the Shine or ram into them with a mushroom to steal it. Trouble is the player with the Shine is slower than all the other players.

The gold combo consists of the Gold Kart, the Gold Wheels and Gold Paraglider. I'll edit it tommorow in bow to get this amazing combo.

So in the game you can get costumes for your Mii RacerThats it. Go home now.

So in the game there are a total of 12 Cups and 48 Tracks. Here they are(did'nt include tracks cos I'm lazy)

A game worth having, if you have a switch, buy this game. If you have the wiiu version but have a switch, it’s a better version to have.

For one, I had the game already for my WiiU and I wasn’t sure if I was getting the same experience, let me tell you it’s an upgrade from the old WiiU version. By default you can enjoy a 2 player game rights away thanks to the switch allowing each joy-con as independent controllers. Not to mention added game mechanics like double items and a much better and preferred battle mode, if you’re rebuying the game just to race new tracks you might be disappointed as there’re little to no new tracks other than the battle mode and pre-included dlc tracks from the previous game. But the experience is like new and the ability to take the game around as easily as the console, makes this game a must have for party games.

Great game for any family

It's Mario Kart, it is great fun especially with family or friends. This Deluxe edition is especially good because it includes extra tracks, and it has many characters to choose from. In fact, it has the most tracks I have seen in any other Mario Kart game, complete with many different trophy cups. The selection means there is bound to be a favorite track and character for everyone. Being able to play on the Switch is great since it is so portable, and Mario Kart is great for family trips and things. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is that it is much more costly compared to the Wii U version, but the price difference was worth it for the benefits the switch provides and having the DLC tracks included helps.

MarioKart Bliss!

Having only played a couple of races, this is an awesomely fun MarioKart! Even my 3 year old daughter had a blast, and she's still learning how to use controllers. It's so easy to pick up and everything is at your disposal. Having it on the Nintendo Switch is even better because it can come with us wherever we go. A must have Nintendo game!

It’s Mario Kart!

Awesome game. Lots of fun with 2-4 players. The best part is, for k >nding on the track you select. Enemy’s are difficult on 150cc races and up which is a nice challenge. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Nice Addition to Series

I've been a big fan of mario kart since the N64. This seems to be another great entry in the series keeping most of what worked and adding some new elements. Now I'm introducing my kids to the series and they are learning to enjoy it as well. Highly recommended to anyone interested in mario kart and has picked up a switch.

Must have game

By design, the Nintendo Switch is all about Sharon experiences with easy to access multiplayer experiences wherever you are and in my opinion Mariokart 8 provides the best pickup and play experience for anyone at any time. My wife and I love to play this game with friends when they come over to visit. Endless hours of fun, easy to pickup and yet challenging to master. A must have for any Nintendo Switch owner.

Excellent re-play-ability

What else needs to be said? It's Mario Kart! Always something for everyone. Super easy setting for my 3 year old, and faster, more challenging settings for myself. Multiple modes and a decent selection of tracks and vehicles keep this game easy to come back to play over and over. Love it!

The only racing game I need!

I love Mario Kart. I'm not big on racing games but Mario Kart is always a must for me. It's fun, addictive, and let's you play as your favorite characters. This game even let's you play as characters out of the Mario franchise, like Link and the characters from Splatoon. Mario Kart 8 is a great addition to the Switch.
