Amazon. com is currently offering 1-year subscriptions to Nintendo Power, PC Gamer, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and Official Xbox Magazine with DVD for $5.00 each. These are part of their Gold Box Deals and only available until June 5, 2010.

These subscriptions offer huge savings, for example, the cover price of the Official Xbox Magazine is $9.99 for one issue. This means for half the price of one issue you can get 12 issues for a full year. If you plan on buying at least one of each of these magazines in the next year from the newsstand, then it is definitely worth getting a 1-year subscription instead. Also, if you have a current subscription to any of these you can extend it for only $5.00 for an extra 12 months.

I subscribed to all four for $20, since I couldn’t pass up these deals. I extended my Nintendo Power, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and Official Xbox Magazine with DVD subscriptions. I normally don’t get PC Gamer, but for $5.00 I figured I might as well get it too.

I’m wondering are these magazines good on renewals also?

Yes, Joyce — to renew just make sure that you order using the same name and address as what’s on your current subscription. Most of the time the system will automatically combine the subscriptions, just extending your current one.

On the off chance that you should start receiving two subscriptions, a quick call to customer service should solve the problem. I’ve only had to do this a couple of times though.
