As simple as being wrongly accused of getting paid for writing your reviews when you never take a penny. Did you know that your reviews are their property and you cannot reprint or repost them in their entirety anywhere else? Did you know that you can post your review but no hyperlinks or any URL’s to promote anything else or even create an ad for your book or title when posting any review? The author brilliantly explains the highlights related to the many complaints both authors and reviewers have states against Amazon.



First, reviews have been deleted for no reason. One author was accused of creating and posting a review for her own book. Copyright laws and their statement in their reviewer’s guidelines elaborate on why you cannot post your review anywhere else and the copyright laws that they say are quite legal. The author also includes a valuable resource written by Dana Lynn Smith titled How to Get Your Book Reviewed which will guide you through the regulations imposed by Amazon and prevent you from falling prey to the pitfalls. Everyone should Google Amazon’s review policies in order to up on the current information. To learn more about this and read the excerpt the author has shared read pages 19-20 in this great book.



Chapters three and four provide information dealing with marketing plans and why authors post on Amazon when they can get higher royalties elsewhere. But, the Kindle Direct Publishing does not allow you to choose more than two categories so you need to thin about it before you decide which ones your book fits in. Without the right categories the author states you may never get there. Now, if you read Chapter 7 you will understand the definition of a category and how they are tallied. There is no answer to how your book is chosen to become a best seller and how it is tallied. The author states that Amazon does not count sales from day one for any of their sales rankings. Instead, they choose daily/hourly slices and count up the sales make during that period. To learn more you need to read the chapter for yourself to learn the many secrets unveiled by the author for yourself. Next and definitely primary to your success is reading, as I did several times, Chapter 8 to learn which categories to pick and how to choose the right ones for your book. Remember you can only choose two so you must choose wisely. For a Kindle eBook you choose the categories at the time of publication through your chosen publisher. The categories will then transfer over to the Kindle Bookstore. Important note: this only applies to the Kindle version in Chapter 11 the author will explain how to choose the categories for print copies. Status changes momentarily and categories are only listed as they are shown on page 45 when your book has reached or ranked in the top 100 sales of any category. Next Chapter 9 will help you decide whether to publish in Amazon Print, Kind or mobile devices. The serious pros and cons of both are discussed and the value of publishing in Kindle is stated and the value of print too. You decide for yourself.



Chapter Ten is where you want to be and that is in Amazon’s Print Bookstore too as a bestseller. This chapter goes into detail how to contact Amazon and the links you need in order to create your own categories and up your sales. If you do not have the categories listed you cannot compete for sales rankings at Amazon. This is one chapter you need to pay close attention to. I DID!

I have decided that 2014 is going to be the year of great books. Seriously. Every time I open up Amazon, I find 50 more books that I want to buy and download and neglect the children for. Sometimes the literary world gets dry, and I just don’t find much that pulls me in. This is not those times.
